Job Description

Do you want a job where you have the opportunity to make a real difference every day? We are now looking for a psychologist for SiS Youth Home Långanäs! As a psychologist at Långanäs, your expertise is in demand and important. Here you have the opportunity to contribute to good care and treatment at both the individual and group levels through both individual treatment contacts and supervision of treatment staff. You have the chance to prioritize and manage your working hours based on what is most urgent at the moment.

Compulsory care is a challenge, and the young people with us may have significant resistance to change. As a psychologist with us, you will have a varied and developing job focused on treatment and assessments of young people in difficult life circumstances.

At Långanäs, we currently have three locked treatment departments and a locked department for reception and needs assessment (MBB). The work at MBB is based on risk and needs assessments, which may lead to an in-depth investigation with questions related to neuropsychiatric or other mental conditions. Treatment work may consist of individual psychological treatment contacts, but the foundation is the overall treatment work at the institution, which you contribute to by participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, conducting educational interventions, and supervising other staff. You will conduct various types of risk assessments. You are an important part of providing your colleagues with knowledge and tools regarding the young people's conditions. As a psychologist at SiS Youth Home Långanäs, you have the freedom to determine which interventions you want to offer based on the existing needs. If you are interested, there is also the opportunity to work on method development or drive various improvement projects.

Depending on your background, you may work with both MBB and treatment.

Compulsory care, antisocial behavior, and criminality may be unfamiliar territory for psychologists, as we know that it is a relatively small part of psychology training. Upon employment, you will be offered a comprehensive introductory program so that you feel you have a solid foundation to start from. Then we will help each other tackle the complexities of this work in collegial supervision.

SiS offers good opportunities for professional development, including both internal and external training. There is an established continuous collaboration for psychologists at the central level. As a new employee, you will undergo two introductory training sessions at the agency level.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with a strong interest and commitment to vulnerable youth. You are applying to us because you want to make a real difference. As a person, you are structured, have a good ability to prioritize among tasks, work independently, be adaptable to the situation, and at the same time be meticulous. You can switch between different explanatory models for young people's difficulties and are well acquainted with psychiatric assessment methodology and CBT-based treatment. The work requires you to collaborate both internally and externally with different professional categories. This requires that you are humble and attentive, have good collaboration skills, and understand the conditions of different professions. Additionally, you have an excellent ability to express yourself verbally and in writing. You are someone who shares your knowledge and contributes to development and a sense of community at Långanäs. You find it important to work with voluntariness and respect because we work with involuntarily placed individuals.

You should also:

• be a licensed psychologist and able to present your license
• have a valid driver's license (B)

Preferred qualifications:

• experience in treatment and assessment work within e.g., psychiatric services
• work with substance abuse, criminality, antisocial behavior, and/or psychiatry
• work in inpatient care, e.g., SiS, psychiatry, correctional services, or similar
• the aforementioned experiences focused on youth

Employment:

The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
